Arf

Hi again; I'm sorry I haven't been blogging lately. I just can't get anything of the things I want to blog about into sentences. But anyway, I do have one thing to share.
See, I work at the library, and while I was straightening up the library for closing I found this scrap of paper which some kid had scribbled on. Maybe I'm kind of weird, but I thought the cartoon was really cute (I hate that word, but that's the best word to describe it), so I took it home and photographed it and here it is:

  1. Dear Philosopher,

Last Friday, in English class (the last day of classes before break), we watched the Lord of the Rings. I sat there with my magazine on C.S. Lewis, thought about Chesterton, and smiled. I also thought about you and your blog and wondered how many times you have seen the movies, and whether or not you do the same thing I do: "See, this was originally in Book Two, but they put it in the third movie" or "Okay, that was a monologue in the book which they condensed into a one-liner for the movie." Hurrah commentary!

I hope you swing by DoR on your way to Thomas More this fall!

  2. Hey Ink! Great to hear from you. I've seen those movies a gazillion times because they're my favorite when I get sick, and i got sick a ton last winter. I totally do the same thing when I watch the movies! But the best was when my Dad saw the Return of the King for the first time, and during one of the battles, he started shouting advice to the characters and cheering the them on against the orcs!
That would be sweet to meet you, but I don't know about in fall because my whole family will be with me, but maybe during a break on my way home, since i'll be taking the train then, or maybe during a short break when I can't go home because it's just a three day break or something.

  3. Cute is the perfect word to describe it. I can see myself doing the same thing. Sometimes one of the kids will draw something and for some reason it will entregue(?) me. I'll say to them you'll have to give me that when I go away to school or I want to put that on my desk at work.
